Welcome to the 3rd trimester!
We have officially reached the third trimester! It’s kind of hard to believe that we only have 82 days until the due date. Dan and I are getting quite excited in anticipation for our little boy to make his grand appearance!
We started active birth classes this week where I take pre-natal yoga. It was a wonderful experience, but neither of us knew that we would be doing “birth art”
We didn’t get to take the art home until the last class, so we’ll have to post pics of that later. Dan was very supportive and knowledgeable about many of the lessons and has even followed our homework assignment to practice massaging my feet a couple times a night
Our furniture arrived this week as well! We finally have a real bed to sleep in and furniture that makes our place feel much more like a home. It’s amazing how well our stuff fit into the place (with the exception of the armoir, which didn’t really fit through a doorway very easily). And Belle is delighted to have multiple places to nap now.
Everyone is healthy and happy and looking forward to a relaxing day on Sunday!

26 weeks and counting
Many of you have been asking, demanding and some downright threatening us to post some progress photos. So here you are…remember to be nice, you’re still dealing with a hormone crazy woman
We took our first photo at about 8 weeks

This is from around 19 weeks – Michelle told me that my dress doesn’t show off my belly enough, so we’ll work on that

At 22 weeks, I started to really develop a bump

OK, I know you can’t see much, but isn’t it gorgeous out here?
Here I am this weekend at 26 weeks

and just for Michelle, I made sure to show my belly!

As you can see, the Boo is growing and mom is enjoying desert!

And the baby is…….
While we originally decided not to find out the sex of the baby, after a small slip or two by our new doctor, we decided to find out what we are having. Dan and I are excited to report that we are indeed having a baby boy!!!!
Dan is daydreaming about Dodger games, throwing the football, and not having wedding expenses. I’m wondering, how in the world will I know what to do? I don’t know the first thing about raising a boy! We’ve got a lot of support from family and friends so I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but right now I feel like I’m flying blind here
Most importantly, Boo is still healthy and kicking all the time!

Small Changes
As we get used to living out west, there are a number of things that were easy to adjust to: sunshine, ocean breezes, happy people and a more balance lifestyle. We knew that the driving culture would be so different from Chicago and that commutes can be rough, but I encountered a new variable to the driving quest….American Idol traffic! My office cleared out early (and I followed their lead) to avoid the added traffic downtown due to the tv show and compounded by a Laker’s home game
Everything else is going well. I’m excited that Dan returns from his Ohio trip tonight and we can spend the long holiday weekend together. We have another routine Dr. visit Friday to check on Boo. I can’t wait to tell the Dr. about how big and strong Boo is getting!
The rest of the weekend will be filled with relaxing, a new documentary called “Surfwise” and Dan will be surfing as much as possible! Boo and I will just enjoy listening to the surf

Dignity?
You would all be proud of me tonight, I was on my way to pre-natal yoga and spotted David Caruso, the lead detective on CSI Miami, patiently waiting outside the Lush store next to my yoga studio. Just as I started to second guess myself on his star status, he was approached by a fan who started bombarding Mr. Caruso with questions about his upcoming work, to which the celeb pulled a pre-signed square piece of paper out of his pocket and said he needed to “take this call”, pointing to his cell that wasn’t ringing
I smiled at him, walked on by and felt somewhat dignified for leaving this man in peace.
My dignity didn’t last long though, when at yoga, I struggled to stand on one leg with my lopsided shape and kindly declined to do the handstand move that looked way out of my league. At the end of each class, we pause in silence with the lights dimmed for reflection and meditation. Apparently I still had my cell phone on, because my ringtone of Fergie & Daddy Yankee’s Impacto blared through the yoga studio. I just laid there and hoped that no one knew which purse was singing “
You know what happens when I step into the place; Fergalicious for the ones who get a taste; But they know I ain’t promisciuous; The way I shake it up in this; The ladies don’t know real from the fake; You got a problem? Come and say it to my face!; You got a problem? Come and say it in my face!; Fergie-Ferg make an impact; Imma pull ya wig back; Fellas like the way I move my waist
