Life’s Sense of Humor :)
Dan and I had a wonderful year in 2007! I graduated from the U of Chicago with my MBA in June and started my new job with Mercer, which is still going well. We went west this summer and learned to surf in LA. In fact we liked it so much that we went back a week and a half later! We trained for 20 weeks and completed the Chicago marathon in October despite the record highs and canceled race. To celebrate my 30th birthday we walked all over to San Francisco and Napa Valley. In December we made our way to Denver to learn how to snowboard. It’s been a fun and exciting year where Dan and I have pushed ourselves to explore new places and things. Dan has even started eating sushi! So to top this all off, we decided that Dan should have the car that he’s wanted since he was about 16.
We found a great Jeep Wrangler out in the burbs, took it for a test drive, Dan used his master negotiating skills, and we drove the Jeep home. We found out immediately that we missed our navigation system
I like the new Jeep, but will like it better when I learn how to drive a stick shift. “There’s never going to be a perfect time to have a Jeep, we should just do it.”
The day after buying the Jeep (that I can’t drive) I took a pregnancy test on a whim, which showed positive
I walked over to Dan and said “Honey, there’s never going to be a more perfect time to have a baby”. He was just shocked and wanted to make sure, so we immediately drove to Walgreens to buy five more. After two more tests, we were sure of the good news! A few hours later Dan’s eyes weren’t so glazed over and I was all smiles from ear to ear.
Since then we’ve seen the doctor and are scheduled for the ultrasound on January 26th.
I started a pre-natal yoga class last night. The other pregnant women didn’t believe that I was in the right class since they were all much further along. It should be fun to be around other women to hear their stories and pick up some tips. On the way home I had my first bought of sickness brought on by the Indian food the cab driver was eating. Apparently curry is not going to be a dish of mine for a while
We’ve enjoyed all the emails and phone calls and hope that you are enjoying our blog!
